Me and a friend are doing a restoration of a Denford Triac-PC Mill circa 1992
We managed to rescue it from going to scrap. Machine is solid and seems in good condition but we got it partially disassembled and all cables had been severed.
We got as far as resoldering the severed cables (with the help of the great documentation found in this forum [Thanks]) and got it to do what we believe is the main power cycle check and ready state "8"
We are thinking we might do a LinuxCNC upgrade but we would like to test the machine and fix any possible issues with the original software if possible.
I have searched the forum but did not find any clear info on what software to use with it nor how to build a pc for it. from I understand this machine was still run by some sort of dos program. Unsure if it needed any kind of dongle or other type of license nor what was the latest software it could run.
Another thing we do not know is if there is any way to test and validate the machine other than running the original software, perhaps some way to communicate via terminal with it and send simple commands?
Any pointers would be helpfull and greatly appreciatted
Best regards to all and thanks in advance
